Whitney Matthews (@WhitneyMathews) announced this morning a social media conference being held April 2010 in our backyard-Lawrence, KS.

The conference is called Free State Social (@FreeStateSocial #FSsocial) and will include speakers:

Others to be announced soon. The lineup looks great with some major heavy hitters in the social media realm!

The event will take place at the new Oread on April 29th and 30th. More information to come soon!

Others I’d like to see added to the list:

Mack Collier (@MackCollier) who has helped businesses large and small utilize social media tools to connect with their customers.

Amy Martin (@DigitalRoyalty) Amy taught Shaq how to tweet and is a social media guru in the sports industry.

I would definitely like to see some sports oriented social media users, seeing as how we are in a sports town and area. Someone like Peter Casey or Amy Martin would be great.
